Writer’s Block

I’ve had several free moments over the past few weeks to write (blog) but there’s been some disconnect and I’m not sure what it is.  I have a few random things I’d like to talk about and I don’t know if I just got out of the habit of posting regularly this spring because of classes or what, I’ve just been unable to put pen to paper.  Also maybe I’m worried I’m putting too much out there of my personal life and what goes online is online forever? Don’t know.

I’ve been taking several Alt online classes and they have been tremendously helpful.  One of the classes, I couldn’t even tell you which I’ve taken so many now recommended a few books to help your writing style/ general blogging ideas.  Now that I think of it, I don’t think the teacher even recommended the books, I think it was actually some of the other participants that recommended them in the chat box.  Seriously, take the classes, you’ll get a lot from them.  #thanksBing

The Elements of Style- William Strunk Jr. and E.B. White

No One Cares What You Had For Lunch- Margaret Mason

This one I’ve actually started reading and it really does have some great concrete ideas for your blog.  I probably got 10 ideas of blog posts just for the first ideas she lists.

Grammar Girl’s Quick and Dirty Tips for Better Writing- Mignon Fogarty

The other two- Elements of Style and Quick and Dirty Tips for Better Writing, I’m not so sure if I’m going to read them cover to cover so much as keep them for reference when I’m in and English language quandary, which sometimes happens.
